Our convents and institutions in various countries are organized into Provinces or Regions, each with a superior. Currently, there are two Provinces: the German and the Swiss. Regions are those branches of the order that were founded last and do not have the size appropriate to a province. So there is a Brazilian and an Asian region.
If there is a single house in a particular country, then it does not belong to either a region or a province, but is directly responsible to the General Administration.

The German Province admininisters eight institutions as the "Brothers of Mercy, Inc."
The provincial superior and his board of advisers form the board of directors of the corporation. In 1994 the administration was divided into two areas:

1. Hospital Division administers the hospitals in Trier, Paderborn, Koblenz, and Bonn.

2. Division for Homes, Institutions for the Handicapped, and Rehabilitation Centers takes care of our brances in Freiburg, Saffig, Zemmer, and Bad Rilchingen.

To support the many-sided work in these institutions, staff consultants answer to the administration and work with administration of each institution.
